Barnyard Babies is always a popular visitor to schools, preschools and day care centres throughout South East Queensland

A visit from Barnyard Babies gives children the chance to meet, feed and pet a range of animals including sheep, lambs, calves, goats, kids, piglets, chicks and guinea pigs.

We provide a 45-minute interactive presentation that is both engaging and inclusive.

The farmer not only encourages the children to reflect on the importance of farm animals with respect to food and textile production, but also provides a fully ‘hands on’ experience by encouraging them to handle and feed the animals.

Farming is a vital part of Australia and it’s heritage. A visit from Barnyard Babies enables children, who may not otherwise have the chance, to be educated about farm animals and to gain an awareness of their importance both economically and culturally.

The programme includes the opportunity for the children to bottle feed calves and lambs, chaff feed, handle and nurse the chicks and to explore the animals and notice their different characteristics.

The Barnyard Babies "farmers" and their educational presentation is accredited by Education Queensland in adherence to the CS21 Policy, Programs Touring Queensland Schools.

Our programme relates to Levels 1 and 2 of both the SOSE and Science Core Learning Outcomes.
